After installing Eclipse with Maven you may want to add the velocity template editor to ease editing the velocity templates (*.vm).

 

If you want a working Velocity editor in Eclipse Luna (4.4), these are the steps:

  1. install 2.0 plugin support (for Eclipse 4.4 and later) via
    1. Help > Install New Software
    2. Select the ‘Eclipse Project Updates’ site:
      http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.4/
    3. You will find ‘Eclipse 2.0 Style Plugin Support’ in the ‘Eclipse Tests, Examples and Extras’ section
  2. Install VeloEclipse
    1. Help > Install New Software
    2. Select: http://veloeclipse.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/update/
